The
coming of the US President Barrack Obama has caused a lot of anxiety to the
country and its citizens. This is somewhat unexpected to the country because no
one has ever pictured it happening, thanks to the Global Entrepreneurship
Summit hosted in the country. A lot of change has since sprouted up in our capital
city Nairobi, with the beautification costing almost 40 million of the taxpayer’s
money.
The
silent green matter (grass) growing at a record speed along the major highways has
acquired the name #KideroGrass on
twitter. Some of the major roads have experienced intense repairs around the
city only for the three days that the powerful president will be in the
country. It is evident that the saying Mgeni njoo mwenyeji apone is at
work.
All this
has been done in a bid to welcome the son of Kenya to his motherland. All we do
is hope and pray that there will be a great change and a big impact to the
economy of the country and the Kenyans will be able to reap big from this
visitation. As Kenyans, we won’t be able to escape the Kenyaism in us if there
is such a word in the English world. All I can say in Swahili is karibu Kenya ndugu yetu, (welcome to
Kenya our brother) and as always I can’t help but infuse some luo from where
his roots are and say warwaki dala.
